Cookie Policy

This page is the itemised version of the privacy policy: what Vontoplay writes into your browser, why it is there, and how to get rid of it. "Cookies" below is used loosely to cover cookies and the browser storage that does a similar job, because from your side the practical question is the same — what is being kept on this device, and can I clear it? You can, entirely, at any time.

Vontoplay sets no login or tracking cookies of its own

There are no accounts here, so there is no session cookie, no "remember me" token, and no consent-state cookie to carry. The site is served as static pages from a CDN, and loading one does not require it to hand you an identifier. Anything described below comes either from analytics or from the game frame — not from a Vontoplay login system, because there is not one.

Analytics cookies

Google Analytics 4 sets a small number of first-party cookies, typically named _ga and _ga_ followed by a measurement identifier. They hold a randomly generated number that lets Google tell a returning browser from a brand-new one, so that a hundred pages viewed in one visit are not counted as a hundred separate visitors. They contain no name, no email address, and nothing we could tie back to a person. Google's default retention for that identifier is two years, and it exists so we can see which new games actually got played this week — which is the entire editorial premise of the site.

Local storage: favorites and history

Your Favorites list and your History are kept in local storage, which is a per-site store your browser keeps on the device. This is not a cookie in the strict sense and is never sent to a server — including ours. It stays put until you clear site data, and because it is device-scoped, favouriting a game on your laptop does nothing to the list on your phone. That is the cost of not making you create an account, and we think it is the right way round.

Cookies set by the games you play

Every game runs inside a frame served by our HTML5 distribution partner. Once that frame loads, the partner can set its own cookies and storage under its own policy — commonly to remember progress or a high score inside the game, and, for titles carrying advertising, to measure and target the ads shown. Those entries belong to the partner's domain rather than ours, we cannot read them, and we do not receive anything derived from them. Blocking third-party cookies stops most of this; be aware that a game which saves your progress locally may then forget it between sessions.

How to clear or block any of it

Clearing cookies and site data for vontoplay.com in your browser settings removes the analytics identifier, your favourites, and your history in one action — there is nothing server-side that will quietly restore them. Blocking third-party cookies confines the game frame. Google's official opt-out add-on disables analytics on every site that uses it, and any mainstream content blocker will stop our analytics script from loading at all. Every one of these options leaves the site fully playable; nothing on Vontoplay is withheld from visitors who refuse cookies, and you will not be asked twice.

Why there is no cookie banner

We set no advertising or profiling cookie of our own, and consent obligations sit with the party doing the setting. Rather than train you to dismiss a modal without reading it, we have written down what is actually stored and left the controls where they genuinely work — in your browser. If your jurisdiction requires an explicit consent prompt for the analytics described above and you believe this page falls short, we would rather hear it than not: write to support@vontoplay.com and we will look at it properly.

Updates

If we add or remove anything that stores data in your browser, this page and its date change with it. The list above is meant to be exhaustive at the time of writing; if you find something stored that is not described here, tell us and we will either document it or remove it.
